Almost three years after Hard Target before Woo was able to make his second
American movie, Broken Arrow. It was given to him because of his skills to make
strong action movies but put those charactes in the main role instead of action.
But there could have been more about the relationship between Deakins and Hale,
ex-parners and friends, but now enemies. BA is really different feature when
compared Woo's actioners made in Hong Kong. Many crew members worked with Speed
and thought Broken Arrow is similar bombs and explosions actioner.
But as a pure action movie Broken Arrow gives what we need, plain, fast moving
action, eventho' Woo wasn't allowed to do some ideas he had. For example he
originally wanted Hale to die during the film.
