PLAIN JANE TO THE RESCUE (1982)

Sequel to "Lum Ah Chun", or so I've heard. Anothet more of these Golden Harvest days comedies is story about a woman who gets into a lot of mishaps. Fang (Ricky Hui) fells in love with his old friend Jenny (Siao Fong Fong).  But Jenny is so clumsy and sometimes almost stupid. So all the time Fang tries and fails to rescue her but falls in trouble himself as well, when shes getting into the trouble and out of her job. After all there is no time for any romantic stuff no matter how Fang keeps on trying.

Watch for John Woo in a cameo appearance as an out-of-work director named Ng Yu Sum cueing up at the unemployment line..
